A Step Outside

Today, I left the house to pick up a Target pick up order.  I found out that I needed to go inside, anyway, to get my order, so the point of pick up didn't work so well.  After going inside, I decided to shop.  I debated on whether or not to wear a mask, but only saw one person wearing one.  I spent nearly an hour in the store, and people were really good about keeping the 6ft social distance, for the most part.  I heard no coughing, or sneezing, which was good.  My cart was wiped down in front of me, which was reassuring.  I tried to "fill my cart" because I really don't want to have to go back to the store anytime soon.  Things are about to heat up even more in the next two weeks.  I wanted to go out one more time, before GA skyrockets.  As of tonight, GA has 4117 cases, and 125 deaths.  Albany, GA, has been hit really hard after a funeral a couple of weeks ago where the virus was spread to many people at the funeral.  The pa...

A lot happens in a few days...

The numbers have jumped a lot since 4 days ago...  Here are the new numbers. New York City is the epicenter of the virus, but it is spreading like wild fire everywhere.  Trump is wanting to get the economy up and going again soon, but we haven't even hit a peak yet.  Joshua's world history teacher emailed us yesterday, saying that she had the virus (diagnosed by symptoms).  She went to the ER and they gave her the Malaria drug, which is theoretically supposed to help decreases the symptoms of the virus, and so I hope that she does well on the medication.  They gave it to her because of her age, which I would guess might be around 60.  People in their 30's and 40's are being intubated because their lung function is so low from the pneumonia.  There is a 12 year old girl at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta right now with the virus.  We are told that the virus can be attracted to hair and clothing, and so we should change our clothes and ta...

One Week in Quarantine

Life has changed as we know it.  As of November 2019, COVID-19 was an unheard term, as well as social distancing, as well call it.  It started in Wuhan, China...a little known virus that we first heard had been spread in a meat market from an animal that reminded me of an armadillo.  Then, the facts came out that this virus spread from bats to humans.  The Chinese tried to downplay this virus, and a Christian doctor in China was trying to get his studies out about this virus, but the Chinese would not allow it.  Now, this young, 36 year old man is dead, from treating his patients from the virus, or so we are told.  He left behind 2 young children and a wife.  We knew that the virus would spread, but, at first, it seemed that it affected mainly the elderly.  We should have known better, as this vibrant, young, healthy doctor died from it.  We hoped that it would be a small number of people affected, and that it would be contained and die out l...
